A red carpet gala benefiting Boys and Girls Club of Iowa
It is amazing when we are given the opportunity to provide décor and management services for events that support a great cause. This weekend we had a blast decorating the Frank Ross Memorial Classic Gala. The theme for this year was “Come Fly Away” and appropriately held in an airplane hangar for the event.
The hangar before getting started
Sometimes blank spaces like this are the best because they really allow room for imagination and creativity. Plus how many events have you attended in an airplane hangar??
Guests were greeted with a red carpet entryway. They felt like the stars of the evening and it was a great preview for what was in store.
My favorite element for this event was the ceiling treatment. For this we used HUGE balloons. This fit well in the amount of space we had to work with.
Tables were beautifully set for dinner and centerpieces were provided by the wonderful KRenee. Dinner was served as a family style buffet with food provided by Formentos out of Chicago, Illinois with the support of Catering DSM. It was absolutely delicious!
After dinner, guests enjoyed the nice summer weather with refreshments from a scotch bar on the tarmac.
The stage for the evening was the perfect set for our band, The Tony Ocean Band. Fan pillars in the background brought together the 1950’s Rat Pack theme.
Everyone had a blast dancing the night away and the event was a huge success overall!
