Anymore, businesses are trying to find ways for their employees to maximize productivity in shorter amounts of time. This can be difficult when planning and organizing a meeting for a dozen or more individuals flying in from various cities. Companies are noting the time taken for travel to and from the airport, waiting around for luggage, and the distraction and time spent worrying about leaving early to catch a flight. There’s also the consideration of travel fare, hotel room costs, and lost productivity.

More and more meeting planners and event planners are turning to airport conference rooms or airline lounges for a solution. These options allow meeting attendees to fly in, get down to business, and fly back home all in the same day; a preferable option for companies and organizations looking to save money and employees wanting to return home to their families sooner. Offering a change in scenery can also aid idea generation and creative thinking. In turn, airports are creating spaces and offering conference services in order to compete with nearby hotels. Call the airport as soon as possible to see if they offer such services and if they have availability on your date. If not, you can always look into different airline lounges such as Delta Skylounge to book a space.

Other creative or unusual meeting locations shared by others were spotlighted by CBS News including:
